Banks – one of the most preferred career destinations in recent times. The entrance exams are conducted either by the individual banks or by Institute of Personnel Selection (IBPS) for 19 public sector banks.

The syllabus may mostly be the same since the exam is for a officer, but it would be a good idea if you can keep track of any change in the syllabus.

2. Preparation – the next step is to start preparing. The main criterion here is that you have to be very sound in mathematics, which is where all the business revolves around. Being good at the concepts can make it easier for you to practice; else you will have to devote extra time to understand the concepts thoroughly. Calculating mentally is also one area which any person needs to improve on to be able to crack the exams easily.

3. Manage time – one of the tips given to students to crack any exam is ‘time management’. Time is a crucial component in preparation. If you spend more time in doing calculations in paper, you will tend to lose out on precious time. Mental calculations can help in speeding the process of answering. Effective time management is required to help you attempt all the sections in the paper.

4. Do not spend more time on a specific question – some people have the habit of spending time on a particular question till he/she solves it. Spending more time results in losing time, thereby unable to complete answering all the questions in the paper.

5. Banking rules and regulations – every candidate who attempts the banking PO exam is required to know basic SEBI rules and regulations, therefore be aware of them.
